Sand Volleyball & Pool Party: Slip-N-Slide THIS SATURDAY!
Last year, a bunch of crazies decided to throw a piece of plastic on the ground, cover it with baby shampoo and water. Then, they ran full speed toward it, jumping at the last second, to slide the entire length of the plastic in their best, most creative pose.
Before they knew it, around 60 people were there (it wasn't a planned event). We bought burgers, cranked up some music, and had a great time!
There's NO WAY we're letting this year go by without a repeat! So join us! We'll meet at the Conway Campus of NLC at 10AM and caravan to the Ozark Conference Center. The slip-n-slide, along with a sand volleyball court and a pool, we'll be waiting on us!
The event will run from 11-5, and the Foundry will provide drinks and lunch! Bring a lawn chair and whatever swim gear you need.
Ladies- the facility has requested that we keep it modest, so if you are wearing a two piece, please bring a tank top (to swim in and to wear out of the pool).
No childcare provided. RSVP HERE.

BEAUTIFUL RWANDA
In Rwanda, the landscape seems to roll endlessly-- one hill after another. 5 volcanoes border the backdrop of the skyline. The vivid blue sky is interrupted by the sharp greens of various and plentiful vegetation and farmland... ...and the people are even more beautiful. From the time our feet hit the ground, our team of 22 from New Life Church were busy! We began our journey with visits to memorial sites. We wanted to come face-to-face with even the most gruesome aspects of Rwanda's past so that we would be sure to meet our tasks with the compassion and love of Jesus Christ. From there we traveled all over the district of Musanze to fit shoes onto the feet of children that needed them.
Rwandan soil is volcanic... and when you don't wear shoes, the dirt can cause a disease called podoconiosis.
Picture by Mark Darrough, B2R God moved during our trip. We saw physical healing, emotional healing, and salvation come to people in Rwanda. And God moved in us!!! The Gospel is such a relevant and powerful message! Quotes from the trip: "Here, life has been hard. But you guys come and give me hope. And now, I want to give people hope, too." -Charles Mugabe, genocide survivor, Nyamata "You guys weren't just handing out shoes. You were handing out life." -Paul Karemera, owner of Intore, a transportation provider in Rwanda "Watching your team, I was reminded of when Jesus said, 'Let the children come unto me...'" -Charles, one of our drivers Check out some of our albums on facebook: Melisa Ortner - Rwanda Through My Eyes Melisa Ortner - Rwanda Through My Eyes Part II Danica Smith - Land of 1,000 Hills FOUNDRY LAKE DAY!!!
